About EPA

EPA's Mandate

The EPA shall be the principal authority for the management of the environment and shall co-ordinate, monitor, supervise and consult with relevant stakeholders on all activities in the protection of the environment and sustainable use of natural resources in Liberia.
Executive

The Executive Director is assisted by the Deputy Executive Director and heads of departments.

The Chief of Office staff within the executive director’s office oversees the administrative affairs of the office of the executive director /in closed collaboration with the various units.

The executive department houses various offices to include:

Legal,
Provides legal advice to the office of the executive director on MOUs, Contracts and league related issues.

Chief Technical Advisor,
Advised the Executive Director on technical related issues.

Media and Cooperate Communications
collect and manage the communication arm of the institution.

Internal auditing Units
An audit department is a unit within a company or organization that is responsible for evaluating operational procedures, risk management, control functions, and governance processes

National climate Change Secretariat(NCCS)
served as the liaison between the EPA and key sectoral policy makers in advocating for the formulation of climate policies and decision making at the national level.

Energy and Environment (E & E)

Serves as the liaison between EPA and key government ministries and agencies in the development and implementation of activities or programs approved by the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
