EPA's Mandate

The EPA shall be the principal authority for the management of the environment and shall co-ordinate, monitor, supervise and consult with relevant stakeholders on all activities in the protection of the environment and sustainable use of natural resources in Liberia.
Planning and Policy

Environmental Planning and Reporting is the Agency’s strategic arm for planning, reporting and monitoring performances of the AWP including other planned activities.

The Department of Planning and Policy has the responsibility to coordinate, integrate, harmonize, and monitor the implementation of environmental policy and decisions of the Policy Council. The Department also guides the strategic planning processes of the Agency and ensures the integration of environmental issues into national development plans. The Department is responsible for creating and maintaining EPA information databases.

The Department currently has Five (5) staffs with two (2) units (Planning & Policy units respectively) and one assisting manager coordinating the affairs of the policy unit.

The KYE aims is to provide/share information to employees by some employees and other professionals on environmental issues such as Climate Change, biodiversity conservation, marine ecosystem, water and sanitation etc. It also seeks to provide understanding to employees on the status of various projects and interventions that the EPA is undertaken to mitigate adverse environmental consequences.
