EPA's Mandate

The EPA shall be the principal authority for the management of the environment and shall co-ordinate, monitor, supervise and consult with relevant stakeholders on all activities in the protection of the environment and sustainable use of natural resources in Liberia.
Administration

The Department of Administration is dedicated to delivering efficient, effective, and economical support services that enable the Environmental Protection Agency of Liberia to fulfill its mandate. We strive to foster a professional and collaborative work environment, ensure the prudent management of resources, and promote continuous improvement and innovation in all administrative functions to support the EPA’s mission of protecting and enhancing Liberia’s environment.

The goal is to:
Ensure the agency’s financial resources are used wisely and transparently, with regular audits to keep everything above board.

Attract, train, and keep talented staff by providing opportunities for professional growth and creating a supportive work environment.

Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services in compliance with established policies and procedures, and streamline logistics and supply chain management to support the operational needs of the EPA efficiently.

Provide Top-notch Administrative Support by maintaining well-organized office facilities and administrative processes to support the smooth functioning of all EPA departments, and coordinate and facilitate meetings, events, and field operations to ensure effective and efficient operations.

Develop and maintain robust IT infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency and data security, and promote digital transformation initiatives to streamline administrative processes and improve communication and information management.

Strengthen Policies and Procedures by developing and enforcing policies that align with the agency’s goals and regulatory requirements to ensure smooth and compliant operations.

Enhance Performance Monitoring by establishing performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations to assess and improve the effectiveness of administrative support services, and utilize data-driven insights and feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Boost Stakeholder Communication by facilitating transparent and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to support the EPA’s mission.

Manage Risks Effectively by identifying, assessing, and managing risks to ensure the resilience and continuity of EPA operations and developing and implement comprehensive risk management and compliance programs to safeguard the agency’s assets and reputation.
