MONTREAL PROTOCOL CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES REGULATIONS

The Environment Protection Agency was created by an Act of Legislation in 2002 with mandate to ensure
the protection, conservation, monitoring and sustainable use of the environment and its natural resources.
The Agency ensures the enforcement of environmental regulations, standards and guidelines in
collaboration with relevant institutions as required by the Environmental Protection and Management Law
(EPML) of the Republic of Liberia. It has the mandate to coordinate, monitor and regulate all activities of
all entities, and individuals relating to the environment issues. The sole intent of the EPA is to safeguard
and preserve the environment for present and future generations. Consequently, the EPA deems it necessary
to revise the Amended Ozone Depleting Substances Regulations. This instrument to serve as a tool for the
regulation, monitoring and evaluation of Ozone Depleting Substances or activities within the Republic of Liberia.
