EPA Executive Director Engages in High-Level Biodiversity Talks in Colombia

(Cali, Colombia, October 24, 2024) – Dr. Emmanuel Urey-Yarkpawolo, Executive Director of Liberia’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), actively engaging in his first high-level discussions at the 16th Conference of Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP16), taking place in Cali, Colombia.

Dr. Urey-Yarkpawolo is currently participating in a high-level breakfast dialogue on Biodiversity and Health, organized by the Government of Colombia in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the UNCBD Secretariat.

Global leaders gather at the event to explore the crucial connection between biodiversity conservation and public health, focusing on integrated approaches to address environmental and health issues.

Liberia’s active participation underscores its dedication to advancing global environmental protection and sustainable development efforts.
