Monrovia, Liberia – July 30, 2026_The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Liberia, with support from the World Bank, successfully convened the National Validation Workshop on the Draft National Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) Policy Framework of Liberia, bringing together senior government officials, development partners, technical institutions, and key national stakeholders to review and validate a landmark policy framework that will strengthen the management of land acquisition and resettlement associated with development projects across the country.

Held at the EPA Conference Room in Monrovia on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the workshop forms part of Liberia’s broader commitment to promoting environmentally and socially responsible development while ensuring that the rights, livelihoods, and dignity of Project Affected Persons are protected throughout the implementation of public and private investment projects.

The validation workshop attracted strong national participation, reflecting the importance of the proposed policy framework. Representatives attended from the World Bank, Liberia Land Authority, Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry Development Authority, Liberia Electricity Corporation, Ministry of Local Government, Ministry of Mines and Energy, Ministry of Gender, National Bureau of Concessions, Union of Certified Environmental Consultant of Liberia, together with senior leadership and technical experts of the Environmental Protection Agency and other institutions.
